LIONS CLUB OF AMMANNAGAR AND CHENNAI
ROYAL EXCELLANCE - HONOUR SOCIAL ACTIVISTS.
The Lions Club of Amman Nagar and
Lions club of Chennai Royal Excellance
presented award to Social Activist of the area numbering 32. The award was
presented as part of Former President of India, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam
birth anniversary celebrations.
V. Subramani Founder Secretary,
Sabari Green Foundation and V. Rama Rao,
veteran environmental activists, and Treasurer, Sabari Green Foundation,
Chennai, have been honoured with ‘Patriot 2016’
award by Lions Club of Amman Nagar, 324
A6, Region 8 Zone 1, for rejuvenation of water-bodies..
Mr. V. Rama Rao said many like minded NGOs, neighbourhood Associations, and
General Public especially women take interest and join with us
while cleaning/rejuvenating the lakes or ponds. Many Corporate companies send their CSR
volunteers. Peter Van Geit, a German National, head of the Chennai
Trekking Club joined with us in many of our projects besides their project
numbering 50 to 60 volunteers. He
appealed to the State Government to have a seperate Ministry, Secretary and Department for water and also create Lake authrority of Taminadu
with more powers.
We wish him for many more such awards.
