Tamilandu Circle Greets all.

Almost 700 million people are now over the age of 60. By 2050, 2 billion people, over 20 per cent of the world’s population, will be 60 or older. The increase in the number of older people will be the greatest and the most rapid in the developing world, with Asia as the region with the largest number of older persons, and Africa facing the largest proportionate growth. With this in mind, enhanced attention to the particular needs and challenges faced by many older people is clearly required. Just as important, however, is the essential contribution the majority of older men and women can continue to make to the functioning of society if adequate guarantees are in place. Human rights lie at the core of all efforts in this regard.

Com. P. Gangadhara Rao joined the Telecom Department as Technician in 1970 in Bangalore Telecom District. He became Phone Inspector in 1973. Junior Engineer in 1976.

Assistant Engineer in 1992 and finally retired as Divisional Engineer On 31-03-2008.

He was active in NFPTE while working as Technician
and in FNPTO while working as Phone Inspector.

He was the Circle Secretary of JETA, TESA & BSNLEA; 
founder Circle President of SNEA before retirement.

In AIBSNLPWA , he was elected as AGS in Formation Conference in 2009 and continued till 2015. In Bangalore AIC he was elected as Dy. General Secretary.

Now at Puri he is elected as our GS.

 PURI AIC NEWS

ODISHSA, a small circle in size, but high in spirit, hosted our big All India Conference at a small place, Puri.

Ø Red Alert warning about a cyclone on coastal Odisha gave added burden to the hosts. With that fear and apprehension only we started the conference. But, the cyclone simply crossed over Odisha and got weakened. here were some showers and strong wind on 20,September.

Ø 1228 Delegates from 22 circles registered and participated in the conference. In addition, about 450 comrades from Odisha branches also attended the AIC.

Ø The conference adopted the Report and accounts unanimously. 49 delegates and some of the Central officers participated in the debate.

MAIN CONCERN

The delegates from every circle expressed serious concern over non-allotment of funds by BSNL for paying medical allowance and reimbursement under BSNL MRS, practically negating the order for restoration of allowance for pensioners.

GENERAL APPROVAL

All the delegates who participated in the Debate approved and supported the right demand for Pension Revision with fitment factor suggested by seventh CPC.

MAIN DECISION OF AIC

... AIC decided to organize mass Hunger Strike for one day in October/November 2018, at all SSA headquarters demanding Pension Revision with CPC fitment factor.

... AIC decided to hold a National Convention in New Delhi to draw attention of authorities on our major demand for pension revision with CPC fitment factor. We will approach other Pensioners’ organizations who agree with our demand.

... CHQ will announce the date and venue of the Convention in consultation with other organizations.

... Our members from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP East and UP West Circles should participate in the Delhi convention in largest number.Other Circles may send representatives.

... Cost for the participation will be borne by concerned SSA/Circle Units.

... CHQ will issue detailed instructions after finalizing the date, venue etc.

AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION

CWC considered all proposals but recommended only two amendments. AIC approved those amendments about Branches and Quota thereon. After the amendments the position shall be as;

(i) Name of our association remains same as AIBSNLPWA. There is no change for the time being.

(ii) The District units are free to form branches below SSA Units for better and effective functioning.

(iii) If branches are formed as above, the SSA Unit shall decide jurisdiction of such branches, as already provided in the constitution.

(iv) District conference of such SSA Unit, having branches, shall comprise of delegates elected by the branches at the ratio of One Delegate for every Ten members or part thereof.

[for example: for 5-14 members one delegate to District conference, for 15-24 members 2 Delegates, for25-34 members 3 Delegates, for 35-44 members 4 Delegates, so on so forth.]

(v) The branch shall remit quota as

20% to CHQ

20% to Circle

20% to District and retain remaining 40%.

(vi) If there is no branch under a SSA Unit, the Quota will be as

20% to CHQ, 20% to Circle and 60% will be retained by the SSA Unit.

(vii) For AIC and Circle Conference, the SSA Unit shall remain as the Base unit, as now.

PURI AIC NEWS

Though the Conference ended on time as scheduled smoothly, unexpected problems were waiting for many Delegates.Due to some agitation at Kharagpur in West Bengal, 40 trains were cancelled. Hundreds of our delegates were stranded at Puri, Khurda Road or Bhubaneswar railway stations. Some had to catch flights. Some others like Ernakulam comrades had to spend 18 hours in railway platform for their trains.Some others had to travel in unreserved coaches, having no water, no toilet facility, and no food.It was a torture. We could not help them.Nobody could help them.Railways did not make any alternate arrangement.

SHOCKING DEATH OF A VETERAN IN AIC VENUE

On 21-9-2018, when we were in CWC meeting the shocking news reached us about sudden demise of Com. P C Moitra (72), our former All India Vice President and present Circle President of West Bengal. He had heart problem and has been moving with a pacemaker. But death came so unexpectedly. He came to Puri to attend the AIC. While sitting in front of the Conference hall he fell down on the lap of a comrade from Tamilnadu and expired on the spot. 

Immediately he was taken to hospital and they declared brought dead. Some comrades console themselves that he could breathe last in the “holy land” of Puri. But, it was a shock for us. I and Com. Natarajan went to the hospital, terminating the CWC meeting and located the dead body kept behind the Puri District Hospital. I could take a shot of the dead body of my old comrade with 40 years friendship, under the light provided by Com. Natarajan’s mobile phone.

The postmortem was done and the dead body was brought to the AIC venue at 1315 hours on 22-9-2018.Hundreds of Delegates paid homage and the body was sent to Calcutta in an ambulance van.Com. AK Ghosh and Com. S R Dutta who came with late Com. Moitra accompanied the dead body.CHQ met all expenses for sending the body. Red salute to com. P C Moitra. ….PSR

OBITUARY

With a grief filled heart we bring the sad demise of Madurai District AIBSNLPWA ex President Com. M.Ravindran who passed away today. He retired as DGM from Madurai SSA. He was very active and offered very valuable suggestions and worked hard for the growth of Madurai AIBSNLPWA. His demise is a great loss to the Madurai . 

We pray the almighty to keep his soul at rest.

Victorious News From Kumbakonam.

Kumbakonam District AIBSNLPWA brings two successful news of their Division.

Ms. Selvarathinam unmarried daughter of Late Sri. Seetharaman Telephone  Operator, Pattukkottai has got her family pension with effect from   07-2015 . Orders have been  issued. This has been done by AIBSNLPWA  Kumbakonam district with the help of our  Circle Union . One more jewel  on the crown of Kumbakonam.

Mrs. Jeeva , w/o Late Sri. Rajendran  and  Mrs. Lakshmi w/o Late Sri. Vibhushanan,  family pension cases given by Dhanapalan, Karaikkal  are settled through Adalat with the help of AIBSNLPWA Circle Union and orders sent to respective banks. Family Pensioners have  got their amount.

அன்பு தோழர்களே/ தோழியர்களே , 
வணக்கம்.
இம்மாதம் 22 மற்றும் 23 ஆகிய தேதிகளில் நமது அமைப்பின் அனைத்திந்திய மாநாடு வெற்றிகரமாக ஒடிஷா மாநிலம் கோவில் நகரமாம் புரியில் நடந்து முடிந்துள்ளது. 21 மாநிலங்களிலிருந்து 774 சார்பாளர்களும், 458 பார்வையாளர்களும் ஆக மொத்தம் 1232 உறுப்பினர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு சிறப்பித்தனர்.இது தவிர ஒடிஷா மாநிலத்தை சேர்ந்த 400 க்கும் மேற்பட்ட தோழர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டனர். தமிழ்நாட்டிலிருந்து 183 சார்பாளர்களும் 69 பார்வையாளர்களும் கலந்து கொண்டுள்ளனர். அகில இந்திய பொறுப்பாளர்கள் தோழர்கள்  DG , முத்தியாலு , நடராஜன் , ராமராவ் , S .அருணாசலம் , மற்றும் நம் மாநில செயலர் தோழர் RV ஆகியோர் பங்கு பெற்றனர். மாநாட்டில் நம்மை எதிர்நோக்கியுள்ள பல்வேறு பிரச்சினைகள் குறித்து விரிவான விவாதங்கள் நடைபெற்றன.
அமைப்பு நிலை விவாதத்தில் தமிழ் மாநிலத்திருந்து தோழர்கள் N.S.தீனதயாளன் -STR , S.வீராசாமி -மதுரை,  B .அருணாசலம்-கோவை , R .அசோகன்-கடலூர், ஆகியோர் பங்கு பெற்று பிரச்சினைகளை எடுத்துரைத்தனர். 22-ஆம் தேதி இரவு ஒடிஷா மாநில கலைஞர்களின் ஒடிசி நாட்டிய மிக சிறப்பாக வண்ணமிகு நிகழ்சி நடைபெற்றது.இந்த நிகழ்ச்சி அனைவரின் கண்ணையும் கருத்தையும் கவரும் வகையில் இருந்தது. அன்று இரவு உலகப்புகழ் பெற்ற ஸ்ரீ ஜெகந்நாதர் ஆலயத்திலிருந்து வரவழைக்கப்பட்ட பிரசாதம் மிக சிறப்பான முறையில்  அனைவருக்கும் வழங்கப்பட்டது. 
23 ஞாயிறு அன்றும் பல்வேறு மாநிலச்செயலர்கள் பரப்புரையாற்றினர். விவாதங்களுக்கு பதில் அளித்து பொது செயலர் தோழர் நடராஜன் உரையாற்றினார். Pension is Right என்ற புத்தகம் தோழர் DG அவர்களால் எழுதப்பட்ட புத்தகம் மாநாட்டில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. இந்த புத்தகம் தயாரிக்க ,தயாரிப்பில் முழு முயற்சி எடுத்துக்கொண்ட அகில இந்திய துணைப்பொது செயலர் தோழர் V.V.S. மூர்த்தி அவர்களுக்கு பாராட்டு தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டது. அச்சிடப்பட்ட அனைத்து பிரதிகளும் நம் தோழர்களால் வாங்கப்பட்டு விற்று தீர்ந்து விட்டது.  மிகவும் பயனுள்ள இப்புத்தகம் மீண்டும் அச்சிட்டு வெளியிட மாநிலசெயலர்கள் முன் முயற்ச்சி எடுத்து தெரிவித்தால் இரண்டாம் பதிப்பு வெளியிடுவதற்கான நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கப்படும்.
நம்மை எதிர்நோக்கியுள்ள மிக முக்கியமான கோரிக்கையான ஓய்வூதிய மாற்றம் 01-01-2017 முதல் விரைவில் பெறுவதற்கு எதிர்வரும் 2018  நவம்பர் மாதம் டில்லியில் ஒரு கருத்தரங்கம் ( convention ) நடைபெறும் அதைத் தொடர்ந்து அனைத்து மாநில , மாவட்ட தலைநகரங்களில் ஒரு நாள் உண்ணாவிரதம் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் என்று தோழர் DG முன்மொழிந்த தீர்மானம் ஒரு மனதாக பலத்த கரவொலிகளுடன் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்பட்டது. அதற்கான தேதிகள் பின்னர் அறிவிக்கப்படும்.
அனைத்திந்திய நிர்வாகிகள் தேர்வும் ஒரு மனதாக நடந்தேறியது. தோழர் P S ராமன்குட்டி அவர்கள் மீண்டும் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். துணை தலைவர்களாக தோழர் DG ,  G.நடராஜன் மற்றும் A . சுகுமாரன்,  பொது செயலாளராக கர்நாடக மாநிலத்தை சார்ந்த தோழர் P .கங்காதரராவ் , துணைப்பொது செயலாளர்களாக தோழர் முத்தியாலு மற்றும் ஆந்திரா மாநிலம் தோழர் வரப்பிரசாத ராவ் அவர்களும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டனர். பொருளாளராக தோழர் TS விட்டோபன் அவர்களும் துணை பொருலாளராக தோழர் ராமராவ் அவர்களும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர். AGS ஆக நெல்லை மாவட்ட செயலர்  தோழர் S .அருணாசலம் மீண்டும் தேர்வாகி உள்ளார். மற்றும் தோழியர் V. ரத்னா சென்னை தொலைபேசி அவர்கள் AGS  ஆக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். 
சமீபத்தில் கேரளாவில் நிகழ்ந்த வரலாறு காணாத வெள்ளத்திற்கு நிவாரண நிதியாக ரூபாய் ஒரு லட்சம் நன்கொடையாக வழங்கிய கோவை தோழியர்சிவகாம சுந்தரி அவர்கள் விழா மேடையில் ஒடிஷா மாநில பாரம்பரிய முறையில் பாராட்டி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார் .
இந்த மாநாட்டின் ஒரு சிறப்பு அம்சமாக  98 வயது நிரம்பிய ஒடிஷா மாநிலம் கட்டாக் நகரைச்சார்ந்த பெரியவர் சைதன்ய பெஹெரா அவர்கள் பாராட்டி கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார் . 1921 ஆம் வருடம் பிறந்துள்ள இவர் கைத்தடி இல்லாமல் , யாருடைய உதவியும் இல்லாமல் தாமே நடப்பது போற்றுதற்குரிய விஷயம். மொத்தத்தில் நம் அமைப்பு ஓய்வூதியர் மத்தியில் ஒரு பலமான அமைப்பாக இருக்கிறோம் என்பதை மெய்ப்பித்தது. சென்ற மாநாட்டிற்குப் பிறகு நமது சங்கம் 104.49 சதவீத வளர்ச்சி பெற்றுள்ளதாக தோழர் DG  அறிவிக்க அனைவரின் கரவொலி விண்ணைப்பிளந்தது. 
நம் மாநில செயலர்தோழர் RV  தமது பரப்புரையில் தமிழ் மாநில உறுப்பினர் எண்ணிக்கை பத்தாயிரத்தினை தாண்டி விட்டது. நம் லட்சியம் அடுத்த மாநாட்டிற்குள் பதினைந்தாயிரத்தை தொட்டுவிடுவோம் என்று பலத்த கரகோஷங்களிடையே தெரிவித்தார்.   நம் வளர்ச்சி விகிதம் சுமார் 140 சதவீதமாகும்.
இறுதியாக சிறப்பான முறையில் நல் வசதிகளுடன் நாம் தங்குவதற்கு சிறப்பான முறையில் ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்திருந்த வரவேற்பு குழுவிற்கு நன்றி பாராட்டப்பட்டது. வயிற்றுக்கு சங்கடம் தராத சுவைமிகு ஒடிஷா பாரம்பரிய உணவு வழங்கிய சமையற்கலைஞர்கள் கௌரவிக்கப்பட்டார்கள் .

19th September 1968 Strike

Vellore District AIBSNLPWA conducted a massive meeting in remembrance of glorious one day strike on 19^th September 1968. Coms T S MANOGARAN District President  AIBSNLPWA and P Chennakesavan  NFTE Circle  Vice  President  presided over the meeting. Com  C.MURUGAN District Secretary hoisted  NFTE Flag . Coms.  M Rajendran Joint Secretary of  AIBSNLPWA

V S MUTHUKUMARAN CIRCLE ORGANISING SECRETARY and K. ALLIRAJA , NFTE DISTRICT SECRETARY addressed the gathering. This is 50th anniversary of the glorious 1968 strike in which many of our members had taken active part and got punished. Still many of our members are having cherished memories of 19-09-1968 Strike.

Com. G. RAJKUMAR offered Vote of Thanks. More than  70 Members attended.

Let us salute the martyrs of past struggles.
Let us remember with gratitude all those who suffered immensely in the past struggles.
Let us carry forward the proud legacy left behind them to make the life of future generations brighter.
Let us resolve to make future struggles massive success.

NOW, WE ARE MOVING TO PURI, THE CITY OF LORD JAGANNATH TO MEET IN OUR AIC. WE SHALL MAKE ALL EFFORTS TO MOVE TOGETHER WITH ALL OTHER ORGANIZATIONS AGREEING TO OUR DEMAND FOR PENSION REVISION WITH CPC FITMENT FORMULA. 

WE ARE HAPPY THAT SOME MORE ORGANIZATIONS WHO WERE DEMANDING PRC FORMULA EARLIER HAVE CHANGED THEIR ATTITUDE, RECOGNISING THE REALITY, AND NOW DEMAND PENSION REVISION WITH CPC FITMENT BENEFITS. IT IS THE NEED OF THE HOUR TO UNITE AND FIGHT FOR OUR DEMAND.

WE DO NOT MIND WHO TOOK WHAT STAND IN THE PAST ETC. 

WE ARE HAPPY THAT MORE AND MORE ARE COMING ON THE RIGHT PATH. 

THERE IS NO QUESTION OF OUR PATH OR THEIR PATH. IT IS RIGHT PATH. 

REVISE OUR PENSION WITH CPC FITMENT BENEFITS.

பட்டுக்கோட்டை ( தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டம் ) கிளைக் கூட்டம்

14-09-18 அன்று நமது கிளையின் முதல் கூட்டம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.

தோழர் CV. தங்கையன் அவர்கள் தலைமையேற்றார். 

அவர் தமது தலைமையுரையில்: முன்பு போலெல்லாம் இப்பொழுது

போராடி வெற்றி பெற முடிவதில்லை.ஊடகங்கள் போராளிகளுக்குச்

சாதகமாயில்லை.  இந்தச் சூழ்நிலையிலும் நாம் 78.2 சத டி.ஏ இணைப்பு நிலுவைத் தொகைக்காகப் போராடி நிலுவையைப்பெற்றோம் என்றால்

நாம் நல்ல தலைமையைக் கொண்ட அமைப்பை வைத்திருப்பதால்தான்.  அவர்கள் பின்னால் நாம் பெரும் படையாக அணி  திரள்வோம்.   அது ஒன்றே நமக்கு முன்னேற்றத்தைத் தரும். அதற்கு நாம் முறையாகச் சந்தா செலுத்துதல் அவசியம். சந்தா இல்லாமல் எந்த இயக்கமும்  இயங்க   முடியாது. தலைவர்கள் சம்பளம் ஏதுமின்றி தங்களது உடலுழைப்பைத் தந்து கொண்டு இருக்கிறார்கள்.  அவர்களுக்கு பொருள் இழப்பையும் நாம் தந்துவிடலாகாது என்று நல்லதொரு தலைமையுரையைத் தந்தார்.

தோழர். நல்லதம்பி அவர்கள் வரவேற்புரை ஆற்றினார். அடுத்து சின்னக்கண்ணு அவர்கள் ஜெகனுடன் இணைந்து செயல் பட்டதையும் 3 மாதம் போராடியதற்காக ஜெயிலிலிருந்த அனுபவத்தையும்

பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார்.

தலைவர் வீரபாண்டியன் அவர்கள் வெளியூர் செல்வதன் காரணமாக

சிறிது நேரமே பேசி வாழ்த்திச் சென்றார். தோழர்கள் சி. சுந்தரராஜன்,

ரவிச்சந்திரன், பன்னீர்செல்வம், G. கணேசன் மற்றும் நமது

அமைப்புச் செயலர் திரு. சேவியர் அவர்களும் உரையாற்றினர்.

இறுதியாக தஞ்சை மாவட்டச் செயலர் திரு V.சாமிநாதன் அவர்கள் சிறப்புரை ஆற்றினார். 2006 ல் துவங்கிய 6 வது சம்பளக் கமிஷன் தொட்டு இன்றைய நமது சம்பள மாற்றம் 7 வது சம்பளக் கமிஷன் அடிப்படையில் அமைய வேண்டியதன் அவசியத்தை  விளக்கிப் பேசினார். 246 பொதுத் துறையில் அரசுப் பென்ஷன் கிடையாது.   ஆனால் நாம் பெற்றிருக்கிறோம் என்பதையும் கூறி 40 நிமிடங்கள் நீண்டதொரு சிறப்புரையினைத் தந்தார். 

கன்வீனர் சிவசிதம்பரம் நன்றி கூற கூட்டம் இனிதே நிறைவுற்றது.

4 பெண்கள் உள்ளிட்ட 22 பேர் பங்கேற்றனர்.

அன்றைய கூட்டச் செலவு ( ரூ. 500 ) ஐ மாவட்டச் சங்கம் ஏற்றுக் கொண்டது.
